The Airmen of Note was formed in 1950 to carry on the legacy of Major Glenn Miller’s Army Air Forces dance band. More than 75 years later, the ensemble still swings through the big band standards that made Miller a household name, alongside contemporary jazz written for the group.
The Airmen of Note is one of six performing ensembles within The United States Air Force Band, the premier musical organization of the U.S. Air Force. Stationed at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington, D.C., the band honors those who have served, inspires Americans toward patriotism and service, and connects with communities around the world on behalf of the U.S. Air Force.
“Our community relations tours are a highlight of the year for us,” said Master Sergeant Bradley Robinson of The United States Air Force Band.
The Fort Wayne date is part of a community relations tour through Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio, with every performance free to the public.
