On Nov. 4, Bos would be 67-years-old and it was h er disappearance that prompted her sister and musician Jannel Rap help found the Gina for Missing Persons Foundation.  Through work and passage of a resolution by Nebraska lawmakers, the first Nebraska Missing Persons Day was Oct. 17, 2024, to remember Bos’ disappearance and the case not being solved. The most recent update in Gina’s case was this past summer, when Lincoln Police received a new lead that prompted additional investigative work on the case in July and August.  Rap confirmed to KFOR News on Thursday morning in a phone interview that she has heard nothing new stemming from that lead and that officers were still investigating it. Unlike the previous two Nebraska Missing Persons Day, Rap says there will not be an in-person public event this year, but encourages people to visit 411gina.org. There, you can learn more about ten Nebraskans who have disappeared or reported missing.  They include the following cases. -Regina “Gina” Bos, Lincoln, NE October 17, 2000 -Jason Jolkowski, Omaha, NE June 13,  2001 -Anthony Casale, Omaha, NE April 7, 1989  -Marilyn Alexander, Hastings, NE September 21, 2001 -Christopher Loupin, Elm Creek, NE Nov 17, 2019 -Marialice Clark, Omaha, NE Sept. 27, 1972 -Margaret Holst, Omaha, NE Aug. 4, 1977 -Cindy Valle, Omaha, NE Aug. 26, 2011 -Frank Blackwater, Lincoln, NE Jan. 17, 2019 -Joshua Martin, Lincoln, NE Apr. 5, 2024 Rap adds the creation Nebraska Missing Persons Day wasn’t just for her or other families’ missing loved ones, but it’s recognizing and affirming the everyday anguish of the families of those who have simply vanished. A podcaster from Omaha named Joshua Kangley, who helps shine a light on Nebraska missing persons cases, will walk 50 miles from Omaha to Lincoln to raise awareness of Gina Bos’ disappearance and the ongoing investigation.  Rap said Kangley started the walk on Thursday and is expected to arrive in Lincoln by Saturday afternoon. ...read more read less
