INDIANAPOLIS— Eskenazi Health is partnering with AmeriHealth Caritas to offer new health insurance plans across Central Indiana beginning in 2027.
The plans will be offered through AmeriHealth Caritas Next and will be available through the federal Health Insurance Marketplace. The partnership c
omes as health insurance options have narrowed and costs have increased for consumers.
The plans are designed to expand access to affordable coverage, keep care within Eskenazi Health’s network and help people maintain continuity of care as their insurance needs change.
The organizations are also exploring opportunities to serve Medicaid recipients and people eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid through Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans.
Indiana will be the sixth state where AmeriHealth Caritas offers Affordable Care Act Marketplace plans. The company serves millions of members through Medicaid, Medicare, the Children’s Health Insurance Program and Marketplace coverage.
“Hoosiers deserve reliable access to high-quality care, and Eskenazi Health has a long track record of delivering that, especially for the people who need it most,” said Andy Marino, senior vice president of Medicare, Exchange and Provider Network for AmeriHealth Caritas.
Dr. Lisa E. Harris, CEO of Eskenazi Health, said the partnership will help the health system extend its mission by connecting more individuals and families with affordable coverage and care.
Hoosiers can enroll in AmeriHealth Caritas Next plans through the Health Insurance Marketplace beginning Nov. 1, 2026. Coverage will begin Jan. 1, 2027.
