A 13-year-old boy is accused of bringing a knife to a Delaware middle school in his backpack and threatening to stab another student.
Delaware State Police said the incident happened Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the school located in Georgetown.
Police said the school’s resource officer was notifi
ed after school staff searched the student’s backpack and found a large kitchen knife.
According to police, the officer learned that the 13-year-old and another student had been involved in a dispute on social media and an altercation at school.
During the argument at school, police said the 13-year-old threatened to stab the other student and later touched him in a sexual manner. No injuries were reported.

The 13-year-old was removed from the school and turned over to the custody of a parent or guardian, according to police.
Police said the teen turned himself in the following day. He was charged with second-degree unlawful sexual contact, possession of a weapon in a safe zone and carrying a concealed deadly weapon, all felonies. He was also charged with terroristic threatening.
