Donald Trump’s Kennedy Center brought down the house Friday night. However, nobody was performing. This drama did not come with an orchestra. There was no curtain call. There was no standing ovation. Safety inspections were expected to continue. The rest of the building was scheduled to reopen. Trump’s supporters treated the fallen plaster like an “I told you so” telegram from the heavens. “Didn’t President Trump want to put his name on it and fix it up? Likely put some gold somewhere? But the radical leftist said NO. Its perfect the way it is. Now the roof is literally falling down, ironic huh?” one person wrote. “I thought they were restoring the building so this wouldn’t happen? Oh wait, demokkkrats blocked it,” another said. A third declared, “Trump tried to tell you that this place could be condemned. He’s right again.” Critics were not buying that convenient curtain call. Some thought the timing looked suspicious. “This will give Orange Hitler all the ammo he needs to tear it down and erect his open air theater that he wants and put his name on it,” one person tweeted. Another wrote, “I predicted this….now he’s gonna tear it down. S—t.” “Using Spidey sense along with a little critical thinking…..this looks very suspicious,” someone added. “The fact that Trump is not letting them renovate without adding his name to it is wild. The worst president,” one critic argued. One observer focused on public safety. Not a ceiling collapse.” A user alleged, “Trump had someone do it.” “Sabotage,” another concluded. someone else said, “Yeah, that’s just really highly suspicious. There’s no water staining on the ceiling around where the hole is and the dirt that’s lying on the carpeting is as dry as you would never see being impacted by water. This is a false flag. The scene has been staged.” No evidence has emerged that Trump caused the collapse. There is also no evidence that anyone in his administration caused it. Officials had not released a final engineering report. The suspicion comes from an ongoing battle over the center. Trump replaced its leadership after returning to office in 2025. He installed political allies. The new board later added his name to the Kennedy memorial. Rep. Joyce Beatty sued. U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper ruled against the board. He said only Congress could rename the institution. Cooper ordered Trump’s lettering removed. He also blocked the proposed closure. The board later approved another plan. It included an inscription crediting Trump with restoring the building. The board also approved a two-year closure. The Justice Department issued a stark warning. It said the center could eventually become unsafe without extensive repairs. The filing said the building might have to be demolished. Beatty’s lawyers characterized the warning as a threat.
