The Upper Pottsgrove police officer who has been charged after the deadly shooting of 22-year-old Glenwood Earl Pysher IV has voluntarily retired from the department, officials said on Wednesday. Upper Pottsgrove Police Corporal Sean Farrell, 58, of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, was charged with volu ntary manslaughter for Pysher’s death, officials said. Farrell had been suspended from the force without pay on Tuesday, Sept. 1, after the charges were filed, officials said. But on Wednesday, Sept. 2, Farrell submitted his voluntary retirement from the department, effective immediately. Township officials said that they are still cooperating fully with prosecutors and that an internal review “of all relevant policies, training protocols, and field responses” will continue.
