Jiwan Jyoti traveled to Nepal to celebrate her birthday with a pilgrimage through the Himalayas. Now, the 50-year-old of Lexington, Massachusetts, is among more than 4,000 who remain missing after last week’s devastating floods in Nepal. On Monday, officials were reporting that at least 900 peo ple have died.  Her husband, Sanjeev Rai, has since traveled to Nepal in a desperate effort to find her and learn what happened. Jyoti was preparing to cross into Tibet on Wednesday morning local time when she called her family back home. About 30 minutes later, disaster struck. “Even if I can’t take her back alive, I want to take her back,” Rai told NBC10 Boston.  Officials say roughly 100 Americans are among those still missing in the aftermath of the flooding.
