The Eagles released all three of their 7th-round picks as part of the roster cutdown to 53 – safety Cole Wisniewski, defensive tackle Uar Bernard and edge Keyshawn James-Newby. Last time the Eagles cut three rookie draft picks at roster cutdown was 2011, when Roseman – in his second year as g eneral manager – released 5th-round pick Julian Vandervelde and 7th-round picks Greg Lloyd and Stanley Havili. Vandervelde and Havili made their way back to the practice squad and both wound up playing for the Eagles – 18 games for Vandervelde and 15 for Rolle. We’ll learn Monday whether Wisniewski, Bernard and James-Newby clear waivers and find their way back to the Eagles’ practice squad. With the initial 53-man roster set – at least for now — let’s take a look at some other trends and stats with the players they kept as of 6 p.m. Sunday. POSITION BY POSITION: Following roster cuts, the Eagles had four quarterbacks, four running backs, six wide receivers, four tight ends, 10 offensive linemen, five defensive tackles, five edge rushers, four linebackers, six cornerbacks, three safeties and three specialists. That’s 27 on offense, 23 on defense and three specialists.  TURNING OVER THE ROSTER: There are only nine players on the roster from as recently as the 2022 Super Bowl season – Lane Johnson, Jake Elliott, Dallas Goedert, Jordan Mailata and Jalen Hurts are the only ones who played under Doug Pederson, and DeVonta Smith, Landon Dickerson, Jordan Davis and Cam Jurgens got here in 2021 or 2022. So 44 of the 53 on the current roster – 83 percent – was acquired during the last four years.  HOWIE IS GOOD AT THE DRAFT: Howie did have to cut three draft picks, but they were all 7th-rounders. Of the Eagles’ 22 picks in the first four rounds since 2020, all but three are on the current roster – 2021 3rd-round pick Milton Williams, 2022 3rd-round pick Nakobe Dean and 2023 3rd-round pick Sydney Brown. 2021 4th-round pick Zech McPhearson. The only player the Eagles selected in the first two rounds in the last six drafts who’s not on the roster is 2020 1st-round pick Jalen Reagor. The 53-man roster as it now stands includes 30 players who were drafted by the Eagles. WHO ARE THE UNDRAFTED GUYS? There are seven undrafted players on the current 53, although long snapper Rocco Underwood is the only undrafted rookie who stuck. Underwood was the only one of seven undrafted rookies in camp to make the 53, although we’ll see at least a few of them on the practice squad once they clear waivers and odds are at least a couple will wind up as game-day activations. The last time no Eagles undrafted rookie got into a regular-season game was 2008. The six other undrafted players on the 53: Darius Cooper, Johnny Mundt, Fred Johnson, E.J. Jenkins, Jonathan Jones and Willie Lampkin. GETTING OLDER: Last year’s 53-man roster had just six players who were 29 or older. The current roster has 13, including seven in their 30s. There are 26 who are 25 or younger (there were 30 last year). The oldest player on the 53-man roster is Andy Dalton, who is 38 and turns 39 on Oct. 29. The youngest is Markel Bell, who is 22 and doesn’t turn 23 until July 19. WELCOME TO PHILLY: There are 17 players on the roster who weren’t here last year. In addition to the five draft picks and one undrafted rookie there are 11 veterans who were with other teams last year: Andy Dalton (Panthers), Hollywood Brown (Chiefs), Dontayvion Wicks (Packers), Elijah Moore (Broncos), Johnny Mundt (Jaguars), Arnold Ebiketie (Falcons), Jonathan Greenard (Vikings), A.J. Epenesa (Bills), Riq Woolen (Seahawks), Jonathan Jones (Commanders) and Michael Carter (Jets). NEW WIDE RECEIVER ROOM: Only two of the six WRs who made the team were Eagles a year ago. Brown, Wicks, Moore and Makai Lemon are all new, and DeVonta Smith and Darius Cooper are the only holdovers. WRs who were on the team or practice squad last year and are no longer here: Javon Baker, A.J. Brown, Britain Covey, Jahan Dotson, Xavier Gipson, John Metchie and Quez Watkins. WHERE WERE THEY DRAFTED? Of the 46 players on the roster who were drafted, 10 were 1st-rounders, 11 2nd-rounders, seven 3rd-rounders, three 4th-rounders, nine 5th-rounders, four 6th-rounders and two 7th-rounders. The highest-drafted players to get cut were 3rd-rounders Cam Latu (101st overall), Ambry Thomas (102nd overall) and Danny Gray (105th overall). SUPER BOWL HOLDOVERS: Fourteen of 22 starters from the Eagles’ win in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans are still with the team – eight of 11 on offense and six of 11 on defense. Starters who are gone from that team are Josh Dotson, Mekhi Becton and A.J. Brown on offense and Josh Sweat, Oren Burks, Darius Slay, Reed Blankenship and Chauncey Gardner-Johnson on defense. The only remaining players from Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis are Lane Johnson and Jake Elliott.  WHO HAS SENORITY? Some 12 players on the roster have played in at least 50 games in an Eagles uniform: Lane Johnson (168), Jake Elliott (147), Dallas Goedert (108), Jalen Hurts (93), Jordan Mailata (90), DeVonta Smith (80), Landon Dickerson (78), Marcus Epps (66), Jordan Davis (64), Cam Jurgens (53), Fred Johnson (51) and Kelee Ringo (51).
