INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO) — Gov. Mike Braun says his administration has cut the average processing time for professional licenses in Indiana by about half. The average processing time fell from approximately 11.8 days in January 2025 to about 5.9 days in July 2026. The administration says the chan ges have sped up licensing for professional, technical, healthcare and public-safety workers while maintaining existing safety, training and skill requirements. Some of the largest improvements include auctioneer licenses, which went from an average of 16 days to less than one day, and optometrist licenses, which dropped from nearly 23 days to one day. Funeral director licenses saw processing times fall from more than 50 days to about two and a half days. The state also reports improvements for nurses and physicians. Registered nurse licenses now take an average of about three and a half days to process, while physician licenses have dropped to less than one day. Braun says the faster processing times are intended to help Hoosiers enter the workforce more quickly and reduce government red tape. The post Gov.
