INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO) — Gov. Mike Braun is highlighting several policies he says are designed to support Indiana parents, children and working families. Braun announced a $200 million investment in April to expand access to affordable child care and reduce waitlists. The funding is intended to help more families qualify for Child Care and Development Fund vouchers. He also signed legislation expanding Indiana’s Employer Child Care Expenditure Credit. Beginning with the 2026 tax year, businesses with up to 500 employees can receive a tax credit covering 50% of qualified child care expenses, up to $100,000 per employer. The Braun administration has also expanded paid family leave for state employees. Eligible full-time employees can receive up to 150 hours of paid New Parent Leave, while employees recovering from childbirth can receive up to six or eight weeks of paid recovery leave, depending on the delivery. The administration has also expanded New Parent Leave to eligible foster parents and launched a pilot program allowing some state employees to bring infants to work during their first six months. A new state law taking effect July 1 also allows some breastfeeding mothers to request an exemption from jury duty. The post Gov.
