The United States Postal Inspection Service is increasing a reward for information that would “aid in the investigation” of the 2018 disappearance of a pregnant postal worker to $250,000.It’s a tenfold increase from the reward offered by the federal law enforcement agency a year after her disa ppearance.Kierra Coles, then 26 years old and three months pregnant, went missing Oct. 2, 2018, after leaving her South Chicago apartment near 82nd Street and Coles Avenue, according to a missing person alert from the agency. She would now be 34 years old.In the alert, the U.S. postal service worker is described as a 125-pound, 5-foot-4 Black woman with brown eyes and black hair, police said. She has a tattoo of a heart on her right hand and another that reads “Lucky Libra” on her back.In the years since her disappearance, Coles' loved ones have repeatedly called for the case to be treated with the same urgency as the disappearance of Gabby Petito, a white YouTuber whose disappearance in 2021 made national headlines and triggered a nationwide search, ultimately leading to her remains being found. They’ve also made calls for information alongside the families of other missing people through celebrations of her birthday and Mother’s Day.Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at 877-876-2455 referencing case number 2693502.
