Posttropical cyclone Elida brings big swells to San Diego coastline

Monday will be hot and humid with a mix of clouds and sun as monsoonal moisture continues to impact the Southwest, Chief Meteorologist Sheena Parveen said.
A high surf advisory is in effect until 11 p.m. Tuesday for our beaches as post-Tropical Cyclone Elida sends big swells to our coastline.
Parveen says we can expect wave heights up to 8 feet with dangerous rip currents.
Thursday is forecast to be the warmest day of the week, with high temperatures 5 to 10 degrees above average. Widespread moderate heat risk is expected west of the mountains, with areas of major heat risk in the deserts, mainly due to elevated low temperatures, according to the NWS.
Monday:
Coast: sun clouds – around 80
Inland: sun clouds – around 90
Mountains: sun clouds – low 80s
