Wasatch County will host the county’s first Citizens Academy for those interested in learning more about the role and functions of local government in the community. The Citizens Academy will offer Wasatch County residents an in-depth look into county services and departments during facility t ours and presentations from county staff and elected officials. “This is an incredible opportunity for citizens to connect with local government and learn more about what we do,” said Dustin Grabau, Wasatch County manager. “We believe that informed and engaged residents help build a stronger community, and this program provides an inside look at the work happening at Wasatch County.” The six sessions will begin July 19 and cover development services, which includes planning, zoning and building; tax administration, community services such as library, senior center and parks and recreation, administrative services and the sheriff’s office. Participants are asked to commit to the entire program at sign up. For additional information, including schedule and registration, visit Wasatchcounty.gov/citizensacademy.
