On Saturday at 5 a.m. a special weather statement was issued by the National Weather Service until 9:15 a.m. for Northern Warren and Southeast Warren as well as Herkimer, Hamilton, Saratoga, Washington and Fulton counties.“As temperatures hover near, or drop to slightly below freezing, previously wet ground surfaces may become icy across portions of the southern Adirondacks, the Lake George Saratoga region and western Mohawk Valley through 9 a.m. Motorists and pedestrians should remain alert to the possibility of some black ice on untreated ground surfaces.
