The Weatherford ISD Board of Trustees has announced the lone finalist to become the district’s next superintendent. Dr. Sean Scott was named the district’s lone finalist following a “comprehensive search process” and “months of work by the Board of Trustees,” according to a release. The process included gathering reviewing applications, conducting interviews and gathering feedback from staff, parents and community members, according to the release. Scott currently serves as Deputy Superintendent for Mansfield ISD, aiding the superintendent in daily operations and leading in areas like student services, human resources and district operations.  He has more than 25 years of experience in Texas public education, having worked as a teacher, coach, campus principal and district administrator. “The Board is excited to name Dr. Sean Scott as the lone finalist for superintendent,” Weatherford ISD Board President Mike Guest said in the release. “Throughout this process, Dr. Scott demonstrated strong leadership experience, a deep understanding of public education, and a clear commitment to students, staff, and the Weatherford community. We believe he is well positioned to lead Weatherford ISD into the future.” Scott attended Texas Christian University where he earned a doctorate in educational leadership and master’s degrees in business administration and education. State law requires a 21-day waiting period before the Board of Trustees can officially vote to hire the superintendent. They are expected to appoint Scott following the required period. ...read more read less
