CHARLOTTE, N.C. -The North Carolina Department of Transportation is moving forward with elevated express lanes for Interstate 77 from Uptown to South Carolina. The decision comes after feedback and community engagement over the past year. The elevated lanes will have less impact to the McCrorey Hei ghts and Wesley Heights neighborhoods, Frazier Park and Pinewood Cemetery. The I-77 South Express Lanes project is intended to improve traffic flow, increase travel time reliability, and provide motorists with a more predictable commute along one of the Charlotte region’s busiest corridors.
