Rallies in the Bay Area denounce deadly ICE shooting, Trump administration
Jan 10, 2026
In San Francisco, people stood along Van Ness Avenue to protest the actions of federal immigration agents and the Trump administration.
“This seemed like a day when people have to do something as my little sign says be as courageous as you can, I didn’t make it, but I think it’s time if not
now when?” said Joe, one of the protestors.
The line of people stretched down the block as cars drove, many honking.
Although demonstrations tend to happen in the area on Saturdays, this time the fatal ICE shooting in Minneapolis made a difference.
“This is special protest that we have organized in connection with Renee Good’s death in Minneapolis, felt like we needed to be out here and indivisible national has organized a weekend of action in honor of her name,” said Connie Jeung-Mills, organizer with Indivisible San Francisco.
Many repeated the name of the woman shot and killed by an ICE agent
There is cell phone video of the moments before Good is shot recorded by the ICE officer that sparked reactions.
There were more protests in Redwood City. Protestors raised concerns about the actions of this administration as they talked about the shooting.
“If we expect them to de-escalate, we are getting the exact opposite from these people,” said Roger Harris of Redwood City.
There was also a demonstration in San Jose, where protestors gathered at the corner of Winchester and Stevens Creek Boulevard to denounce the action in Minnesota and the U.S. conflict with Venezuela.
