Starting the New Year with snow in Southern New England!
Dec 31, 2025
It’s the last day of 2025, and Mother Nature didn’t want to go out quietly!
We’re going to be chilly (again) today, with highs in the low 30s, feeling like the 20s with the breeze. We’re looking cold and quiet for early-evening celebrations, like Illuminate PVD. However, for those of you
planning to stay out until/past midnight, be mindful! Snow showers begin around 10:30/11 PM or so as our next disturbance rolls through. This won’t be a blockbuster event, but snow will get heavier after midnight, and taper off before sunrise on New Year’s Day. Overall, Southern New England is mainly looking at a coating to 2″ of snow, although the Cape and Islands could see 2-4″ thanks to some ocean effect enhancement.
Aside from the tapering snowfall, New Year’s Day looks chilly and windy with gusts in the 20s, and temperatures hovering around 30 degrees in the afternoon. We will see more sunshine toward the end of the day.
The end of the week is sunnier but still chilly, with Friday’s highs in the upper 20s.
Saturday is also mostly sunny with highs around 30 degrees.
Sunday? Still chilly, though ever-so-slightly less so. Highs will be right around 32, and clouds creep in throughout the day.
Stay safe, and have a very happy New Year!
