ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Mobridge-Pollock Tigers fell to the Aberdeen Roncalli Cavaliers 65-59 taking their second loss of the season last night in the final game of the Cavalier classic. In a back and forth contest the Tigers fell behind at the very end and could not claw their way back in as they dr opped to 1-2 on the season. Both squads had very impressive performances in this one but standing out especially along the perimeter making six shots from beyond the arc in the first half was our Riverside Home Furnishing Player of the Game Jesse Hernandez. Many other players for both teams also had good games including Kale Knudson and Shooter Frederick both with big scoring performances for the Tigers, but in the second half Sam Larson, Quinten Shelton, and Bryson Olson all came out and heated up the scoring effort for the Cavaliers in order to secure the win..  The first half of this contest started out all Mobridge-Pollock with quick offense where the Tigers were able to drive inside and get low for easy baskets with contact. On defense the Tigers did well defending the Cavalier attack. Jesse Hernandez kept Aberdeen Roncalli in this one early, firing multiple threes that would have been good on an NBA court and making six of them to keep the Cavaliers in the game early. Into the second half Hernandez was no longer putting up threes but instead the Cavaliers adjusted and started getting better looks inside and pushing their offensive pace. The game continued back and forth but some costly fouls in the fourth quarter from the Tigers gave Roncalli a chance to take a lead, and the Tigers could not keep up towards the end of this one as they came up short in the 65-59 loss.
