Standing in line in the ccccold, waiting for the lift to open , makes for unusual  friendships. Danny Valdez was one of those who braved the cold and stood with us. Danny, a graceful skier, with whom I skied once or twice, where my skill was tested, is now gone. Fell to a heart attack that took hi m at a young age. It is upsetting that it takes a death to remind one whom his friends are. Death is permanent and now how am I going to tell Danny I admired his skiing, loved bear hugging him and listen to him. It take that kind of tragedy to remind us that friends are not forever and showing them your heart is now, not tomorrow. Lost our friend Ryan just a month ago too. Danny succumbed, died, gone, but a least he did not die alone, a long time friend and protector of his was by his side, held his hand. I am not a praying man, but the hurt is very real, plucking at your heart.  This teaches us that friendship needs nourishing, awareness.  Go in peace Danny. We, your friends, will cherish your memory. Jack Karmel Park City The post Go in peace appeared first on Park Record. ...read more read less
