The organization is encouraging the public to donate 16”, 20”, 24”, and BMX-sized bikes during its bike drive this Saturday, November 7, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the alley behind its storefront located at 1027 Lusk St., Boise.BBP, a nonprofit, asks nonprofit partners, social workers, teachers, and state agencies for referrals for kids who could use a bike. Here’s the cool part about this event: each child draws a picture of their “dream bike” and BBP’s volunteers get to work on a donated bike to bring their vision to life.“Our Holiday Kids Bike Drive is truly critical to ensuring a successful bicycle giveaway event on December 19th. It’s also a really special day where so many community members come together to give in a way that’s meaningful to them to support 550+ kids rolling away on their dream bikes,” said Devin McComas, Boise Bicycle Project’s executive director, in a press release. In addition to bikes, families who attend the December event will be able to take home warm clothes, enjoy cookies and cocoa, and interact with other Boise-area service organizations. On Saturday, bikes can also be dropped at the following locations from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. for delivery to BBP:The Clara, Eagle: 225 S.
