Despite the chilly conditions and having just two substitutes, the boys came ready to play. They applied pressure early, connected on several impressive team goals, and added a few strong individual efforts along the way. Coming off a strong performance the day before, they were ready to carry that momentum into Sunday’s game. As the match got underway, it was clear the team was finding its rhythm. The boys communicated well, worked together on both sides of the ball, and put together some impressive passing combinations to move the ball up the field and build their lead. Defensively, they battled for every ball and made it difficult for their opponent to create scoring opportunities. Their goalkeeper turned in another strong performance, keeping the opposition off the scoreboard and earning the clean sheet as the boys finished the day with an impressive 5-0 victory. It was a successful weekend for the team and another step forward in their season. With just two league matches remaining, the boys are undefeated and looking forward to finishing the season strong. Boys Show Their Growth in Hard-Fought Rematch Sunday, Oct. 25 vs. North Haven U13/15 (Home): L 2-1 The boys welcomed North Haven for a rematch after a tough loss on the road earlier in the season. This time, New Haven came ready to show just how far they had come. From the opening whistle, the boys played with confidence and controlled much of the game. Strong communication, teamwork, and a determined defensive effort kept the match scoreless through the first half. Early in the second half, New Haven broke through with a strong individual effort to take a 1-0 lead. North Haven answered later with a great shot of their own, evening the score at 1-1. With time winding down, the game appeared headed for a well-earned draw. But a late penalty kick gave North Haven the go-ahead goal and a heartbreaking 2-1 victory. While the result wasn’t what the boys hoped for, their performance showed how much this team has grown. They battled from beginning to end, worked together, and never backed down against a strong opponent. With just one league game remaining, the boys are starting to put all the pieces together and are hungry to finish the season with a win.
