Nov 04, 2026
Applebee’s is leaving the neighborhood.According to CBRE Vice President Mark Schlag, the restaurant, located off Glenwood St. and State St., next to Walmart in Garden City, is closing up shop by the end of January. The property owner is looking for a new business to take its place.Applebee’s pre
viously got into a legal tangle with the City of Garden City in 2024 over unclean grease traps that led to clogged sewer lines, as BoiseDev reported. The two parties later came to an agreement.The 5,684-square-foot building that sits on a half-acre is up for lease or redevelopment, Schlag said. He said it could also potentially be for sale, but a lease is preferred.“We’re very bullish on being able to procure something new here pretty quickly,” Schlag said.Marketing materials for the site say it gets over 40,000 vehicles passing by each day.Details and terms of the lease are “deal dependent” and will be negotiated on an individual basis.With the closure, there will be four remaining Applebee’s locations in the Treasure Valley: two in Boise, one in Meridian and one in Nampa..kb-google-maps-container1396750_f41e6c-13{height:450px;}
