INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Colts look to snap a four-game losing streak on Sunday as they return home to host the Dallas Cowboys. Colts head coach Shane Steichen shared what his message to the team is as Indianapolis looks to stop their slide. “You got to have a great growth mindset du ring these times,” Steichen said. “Obviously, you’re in a storm and the only way out of it is you got to go through it. You can’t look back in the past. You got to keep pressing forward. That was kind of the message I told those guys today. We got to keep going, be professionals. Our details, our discipline, in everything we do in the week of practice leading up to the game, you got to be on point.” The Colts have traded two of their captains (Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner) and more players are rumored to be on the trading block, including wide receiver Josh Downs, who has requested a trade. Colts head coach Shane Steichen said on Sunday after the lopsided loss to the Jaguars that he is going to “evaluate everything.” Steichen shared what the changes may look like. “I think you see a lot of the young guys that have stepped up,” Steichen said. “You’ll see Caden Curry a lot more out there. He did some really good things for us last week. He continues to grow in his role, special teams, playing the defensive end spot.” Curry had 7 tackles and a fumble recovery against the Jaguars. The Colts signed defensive tackle Adetomiwa Adebawore to a two-year contract extension on Tuesday. Steichen analyzed the impact that Adebawore has had this season. “He’s been a huge bright spot… Going back to training camp, you saw it,” Steichen said. “Going into this year and the way he was rushing the passer, winning one-on-ones, he’s done a phenomenal job. He’s an incredible worker and a great human. Everything that you want someone to stand for as a football player, character, preparation, consistency of how he works, the relentless effort to get after the quarterback has been phenomenal. I’m happy for him.” Adebawore has 19 tackles and 4 sacks this season. The Colts are scheduled to kick off against the Cowboys at 1 p.m. at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday. ...read more read less
