Shopping for the men in your life can be a challenge. Whether he’s particular about his wardrobe, lives in athleisure or insists he doesn’t need anything, finding a gift that feels both thoughtful and practical isn’t easy. Adam Bevis, the owner of the new Jaxen Grey men’s bo
utique in Jordan Creek Town Center, is here to help.
Bevis founded the clothier in Minneapolis in 2019 to give shoppers a place to discover and try on brands that were then available only online. This summer the business opened a new shop at Jordan Creek, bringing its mix of roughly 80 brands to Central Iowa. With everything from 7 Diamonds and Vuori to The Normal Brand under one roof, the store offers a range of styles for various occasions. Bevis hopes to expand the business further, with Kansas City among its next target markets.
Jaxen Grey fills a gap in men’s retail, with a mix of everyday essentials, performance wear, elevated workwear and statement pieces for special occasions. Just as important is the shopping experience — the team offers styling advice and helps customers find pieces that fit their lifestyle.
With the holidays approaching, here are a few ideas for the different guys on your shopping list.
For the guy who means business
He’s always put together, whether he’s heading into the office, meeting a client or grabbing drinks after work. Jaxen Grey sells versatile trousers and polished layers that can transition from the workday to whatever comes next.
Bevis recommends the Theory Raffi Pant or Thomas Crewneck Sweater.
For the guy on the move
His calendar is full, and his wardrobe needs to keep up. Performance fabrics, comfortable pants and easy layers offer the right balance of style and functionality. Bevis likes the Vuori Meta Pant and Rhoback Pace Quarter-Zip, available only in stores.
For the guy who’d rather be outside
He’s happiest with a weekend outdoors, a day exploring or a little fresh air. Classic layers, rugged textures and timeless pieces like a Barbour Bedale Wax Jacket are right up his alley. Bevis also suggests the Vuori Midweight Flannel.
For the guy who’s impossible to shop for
You know the one. He says he doesn’t need anything and is notoriously difficult to surprise. Look beyond clothing for thoughtful accessories, fragrances and cold-weather staples he’ll actually use.
Bevis recommends the Greyhaven Eau de Cologne or Barbour Tartan Scarf.
For the guy who lives in a hoodie
Comfort is nonnegotiable here. His ideal outfit probably involves a hoodie, joggers and sneakers, but that doesn’t mean it can’t look good. Upgrade his everyday uniform with elevated loungewear and soft, well-made layers.
To strike the right balance of comfort and style, Bevis recommends the Normal Brand Puremeso Everyday Hoodie or Rhone Dreamstate Jogger.
For the guy who’s always ahead of the trend
He’s the first to know what’s in style and isn’t afraid to try something different. Unexpected silhouettes, statement knits and contemporary outerwear will keep his wardrobe feeling fresh. Bevis suggests looking for more interesting pieces like the Dito Collective Retro Quarter-Zip or 7 Diamonds Wool Chore Coat.
Whatever his style, Jaxen Grey makes finding something he’ll love a little easier. And if you’re still unsure, the team is happy to help you find the right fit.
