President Donald Trump is still fuming over his archenemy, former President Barack Obama’s recent jab, and uses a racist trope as a comeback. Trump revealed just how deeply Obama has rattled him. He suddenly lashed out at the popular former president, offering to teach him a lesson on “cle anliness.” US President Donald Trump and former President Barack Obama (Photos: Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images, Michael M. Santiago/Getty Images) “Barack Hussein Obama said, ‘Why is Trump spending so much time fixing up the White House?’ Because the White House has to be pristine. It has to be perfect. It can’t have exterior moldings half falling off. It can’t have broken windows at the main entrance where the window’s been broken for years. You can’t have all these things, Barack,” Trump ranted during a campaign rally in Iowa Sunday. I’ll teach you cleanliness,” Trump nonsensically promised, using his favorite racist dog whistle surrounded by his white MAGA faithful. A week earlier, while on the stump for Democrats in Ohio, Obama took aim at Trump, telling cheering supporters Trump should change careers. “I don’t know if you noticed, but he seems very focused on home renovations. He should be on HGTV!” Obama joked. The first Black president in U.S. history then hilariously described Trump’s home improvement projects, including building a massive ballroom, paving over the Rose Garden, overhauling the South Lawn with a helipad and adding gaudy gold décor throughout the White House. “What’s up with the gold? More gold!” he asked before landing the joke that has sent Trump over the edge. “He’s got the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory!” Obama laughed along with the adoring crowd. Obama’s remarks clearly hit a sore spot with Trump. He has repeatedly attacked Obama since returning to the White House for a second term. A social media frenzy followed Trump’s “cleanliness” remark, with many commenters pointing out the obvious. “Racist and bigoted -sshole, including the people who are there listening and applauding,” a X user proclaimed. Others agreed and piled on. “Cleanliness? That is a f-cking racist trope, by the very racist Trump,” another X user vented. This commenter chimed in, “Cleanliness? We know what he is saying, what he means.” Since first running for office in 2016, Trump has referred to majority Black cities, areas governed by Democrats, and immigrant communities as “filthy,” “dirty,” or “rat and rodent-infested.” He’s also blatantly called African nations and other predominantly Black countries “sh-tholes countries.” In May, Trump posted an image showing Obama’s Chicago Presidential Center with a garbage bag over the top of it, surrounded by what appears to be a homeless encampment with the message, “The Barack Hussein Obama Library, in 10 years, when fully matured!” The 44th president’s $850 million Presidential Center opened over the summer amid praise and accolades. The star-studded opening put Trump’s 80th UFC birthday bash fight at the White House to shame. His entertainment lineup fell apart at the last minute, leaving him humiliated. Back in February, right after the start of Black History Month, Trump blatantly posted an AI-generated video that showed the Obamas as apes. The post sparked widespread condemnation and fury, even from his fellow Republicans in Congress, forcing him to take it down. But he never apologized.
