(KRON) -- A longtime gift card shop in the Tanforan mall in San Bruno has announced a date for its inevitable closure as the indoor shopping center is set to become a biotech campus. Steve's Hallmark announced this week that its last day of business will be in January of 2027, athough no exact clo sing date has been set. The closure comes after 21 years inside the once-bustling Peninsula mall. "Ever since the mall reopened in 2005, we have been proud to serve our neighbors from San Bruno, South San Francisco, Daly City, Millbrae, San Francisco and beyond. Thank you, from all of us, for your support and friendship through the years: every birthday card, every holiday ornament, every friendly hello." Steve's Hallmark said there is a farewell closing sale with savings on a number of items. With the San Bruno location closing, staff are inviting customers to check out their Hillsdale Mall store in San Mateo or shop online. In August, Shirtique Pro Shop announced its closure after more than 30 years inside the Tanforan mall. The sports memorabilia store said it planned to close in September, but as of Nov. 1, the store remains open. "Nooooooo! My literal only reason left to still go to Tanforan," one commenter wrote. "I’m going to miss the extremely friendly staff and management. So many great finds here that I still use year after year." Other shared memories of shopping at the gift shop during the holidays. "I have so many memories going in there to get special limited Christmas ornaments and goodies for my kids," another longtime customer wrote. Steve's Hallmark operates a handful of Hallmark Gold Crown stores in Northern California as a franchise.
