Midterm Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. The midterm elections in New York will determine whether Democrat Kathy Hochul will get another term as governor, or if Republican Bruce Blakeman will take over. Across the country, the midterms give voters the opportunity to decide which party control s the House of Representatives and the Senate. Since they take place in the middle of a presidential term, the midterm elections are generally considered a measure for how well the population thinks the current administration is governing. Poll sites are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. in New York, and from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. in New Jersey and Connecticut. If you are in line to vote at a poll site at the time it closes, you can stay in line and still cast your ballot.
