MORGAN CITY mdash; The Louisiana State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a fatal structure fire that occurred on Sixth Street in Morgan City early Saturday morning.nbsp;According to the Morgan City Fire Department, the fire began around 4 a.m. when a passerby noticed an unconscious victim at t he doorstep of the structure before moving the victim to a safe area and rendering aid until the Morgan City Police Department's arrival.nbsp;Fire officials said the victim later died from his injuries.nbsp;Upon fire crews' arrival, firefighters performed an aggressive attack while conducting a primary search.nbsp;Due to the significant fire spread, reports of unknown additional occupants and nearby structures, the Berwick Fire Department was contacted for additional assistance.nbsp;The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Louisiana State Fire Marshal's Office.nbsp;nbsp;Permalink| Comments ...read more read less
