Two San Jose women were arrested earlier this week on suspicion of killing a person whose body was found in August off the side of a rural road in eastern Alameda County, police said Friday. Alexia Nieves Solache, 22, and Veronica Rangel, 55, allegedly stabbed the unidentified victim to death at a home in San Jose before dumping their body in the area of Tesla and Eagles Run roads outside Livermore, according to police. Alameda County Sheriff’s Office deputies initially responded at about 3:04 p.m. on Aug. 25 to the area of Tesla and Eagles Run roads to investigate a report of a possible deceased person, San Jose police said. The reporting party said he was driving when he spotted what appeared to be a concealed person in a ravine. Responding sheriff’s deputies found the person and determined they were dead. The victim had suffered multiple stab wounds, and their manner of death was ruled a homicide, according to police. Deputies determined the victim was last seen on Aug. 22 at a home on the 700 block of North Seventh Street in San Jose. The home did not belong to the victim, police said. Deputies also identified a suspect vehicle that was seen traveling from the home in San Jose to the location outside Livermore where the victim was found. Investigators determined the homicide happened at the home in San Jose, and they identified Solache and Rangel as the primary suspects, police said. Both suspects were arrested on Tuesday – Solache in Los Angeles and Rangel in San Jose, according to police. They were eventually booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of murder. The motive and circumstances surrounding the homicide – San Jose’s 24th of 2026 – remain under investigation, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact San Jose police Detective Sgt. Varela and/or Detective Montoya by email at [email protected] and/or [email protected] or by phone at 408-277-5283. ...read more read less
