Two San Jose women arrested after body dumped in Livermore
Oct 30, 2026
(KRON) -- Two women who live in San Jose were arrested on suspicion of murder. Alexia Nieves Solache, 22, and Veronica Rangel, 55, were arrested Tuesday after a body was found hidden in a ravine in Livermore last summer, the San Jose Police Department said.
Detectives determined that the victim was
stabbed at a residence on North 7th Street in San Jose before someone dumped the body in a ravine along Tesla Road in Livermore. A passerby told police that he was driving in the area on August 25 when he spotted "what appeared to be a concealed person in a ravine," SJPD wrote. Alameda County sheriff's deputies responded to the scene.
"The manner of death was ruled a homicide after the victim was found to be suffering from multiple stab wounds," SJPD wrote. "Deputies discovered that the deceased victim was last seen on August 22, 2026 at a residence located in the 700 block of North 7th Street in the city of San Jose."
The victim did not live at the residence. Deputies later identified a suspect vehicle that traveled from the San Jose home to the area where the body was found in Livermore, about 30 miles away.
SJPD said its homicide investigators teamed up with the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office, Santa Clara Police Department, Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office, and the Los Angeles Police Department.
Two San Jose police officers face charges of evidence tampering
"The primary suspects were identified as Alexia Nieves Solache and Veronica Rangel," the police department wrote.
On October 27, Solache was found in Los Angeles and extradited back to San Jose to face charges. On the same day, detectives apprehended Rangel in San Jose. The duo was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail.
The motive and circumstances surrounding the killing are still under investigation, police said.
