IRMO, S.C. (WOLO)– The Town of Irmo will hold a public informational meeting Thursday, October 29, on a referendum that will appear on the November ballot. It starts at 5 p.m. at the Irmo Municipal Building. The referendum is about changing the town’s official form of government from the curr ent council form to the council-manager form. The council form splits management duties among council members while the council-manager form leaves it to a professional manager. Town officials say nothing will change in terms of day-to-day municipal operations, leadership, or town services but it will solidify how it already operates.
