Update: Apple has announced new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with a touch-enabled PROLED XDR Display. In a post on X today, Apple CEO John Ternus shared a short video that shows an Apple logo being projected onto a dark wall against a nighttime city skyline. This teaser comes just a few hours before Apple is expected to announce new MacBook models with touch-enabled OLED displays, so it is very likely in reference to that. Apple invited selected tech reporters and content creators to a "Pro and tell" experience in Los Angeles at 10 a.m. Pacific Time today. There, guests will likely receive hands-on time with the touchscreen MacBook models, along with the new iPad mini, iMac, and 14-inch MacBook Pro models that Apple already announced earlier this week. https://t.co/2XsfEhVRJH— John Ternus (@johnternus) October 28, 2026 Here are 12 final rumors for the touchscreen MacBook models:14-inch and 16-inch models OLED display with higher contrast, more vivid colors, and increased maximum brightness Touch input, alongside keyboard and trackpad A revamped, firmer hinge that prevents the display from wobbling when it is touched A redesigned cooling system that improves airflow through the hinge Dynamic Island instead of a notch Thinner bezels around the display Noticeably lower weight A slightly thinner design M5 Pro and M5 Max chips macOS Golden Gate will have touchscreen optimizations and touch-specific controls In the U.S., pricing is expected to start at or above $2,899 for the 14-inch model and at or above $3,399 for the 16-inch model It is likely that the touchscreen MacBook models will be available to pre-order starting at exactly 10:10 a.m. Pacific Time today.Related Roundup: MacBook ProTag: John TernusBuyer's Guide: MacBook Pro (Buy Now)Related Forum: MacBook ProThis article, "Apple CEO John Ternus Teases Touchscreen MacBook Pro: 12 Final Rumors" first appeared on MacRumors.comDiscuss this article in our forums ...read more read less
