This contemporary classic will be presented on October 30 and 31 at 7:30 p.m. The immersive choreography by Katie Puder reimagines Bram Stoker’s legendary gothic tale through a sleek, modern lens. To match Philip Glass’ minimalist, driving score—which was originally composed to accompany the rerelease of the 1931 classic horror film—the production discards traditional period tropes. Instead, it introduces bold, stark color-blocked costumes and striking modern sets that bridge past and present. Avant Chamber Ballet’s production of Dracula will be accompanied by a string quartet. Following immense patron demand after its initial conceptual workshops in 2023, the full-length production features a completely live performance of Glass’s dramatic score, providing an edge-of-your-seat, sensory-rich experience.
