(KRON) -- A 49-year-old Emeryville man connected to a shooting near an elementary school Tuesday faces a list of charges after suspected explosives were also found in his home, said police. The Emeryville Police Department said it responded at approximately 10:20 p.m. to multiple reports of gunfire in the area of San Pablo Avenue and Adeline Street. The incident occurred near East Bay German International School, located at 1070 41st Street. No injuries were reported. “With assistance from the Oakland Police Department and California Highway Patrol, Officers secured the area and searched accessible locations,” said EPD in a social media post Thursday. "During the search, officers heard additional volleys of gunfire within the perimeter. Despite an extensive search, officers initially did not locate a crime scene, suspects, or victims.” Emeryville police said their investigation led them to search a residence in the 4000 block of Adeline Street, where suspected explosive materials were later discovered. Police said The Alameda County Bomb Squad responded to the scene and recovered the materials. The suspect was arrested on multiple charges, including negligently discharging a firearm, discharging a firearm in a school zone, weapons-related offenses, and possession of a destructive device, according to police.
