Li ncoln Police public information manager Erika Thomas on Wednesday said officers were called around 10pm Monday to a home near 12th and Judson, where they found Robert Grove. While taking him into custody, Grove resisted and attempted to flee, kicking one of the officers in the face. He also repeatedly kicked a cruiser door, causing damage. It took five officers to put him in the cruiser. After a struggle, Grove was put in the Lancaster County Jail for 2nd-degree domestic assault, terroristic threats, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, resisting arrest and assault on an officer. Plus, he was cited for criminal mischief. A probable cause affidavit shows Grove allegedly threw a knife at the woman’s face. Police say the woman said Grove was intoxicated and became physical with her, including throwing a plate at her. He then allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and threatened to kill her before throwing the knife toward her face. The knife missed and instead hit the wall. Prosecutors on Tuesday charged Grove with third-degree domestic assault, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, terroristic threats, resisting arrest, assault on an officer, among other offenses. A knife was recovered at the scene. Grove’s percentage bond has been set at $200,000. ...read more read less
