For 30 years, Tom Morgan has been a familiar, friendly face and a dedicated champion of the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce. As our longest-serving Ambassador, Tom has spent three decades as of this month building relationships, supporting local businesses, presenting at ribbon cuttings and helping strengthen the business community he proudly serves. His commitment to the Chamber and its members is a testament to the lasting impact one person can make through service, connection and a little humor along the way. Originally from the Philadelphia area, Tom’s path to Tallahassee was anything but conventional. After serving five and a half years as a U.S. Navy Supply Corps officer, he earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from Penn State (where he graduated fourth in his class!) followed by an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and working in the mutual fund industry, Tom found his way into technology through a series of unexpected opportunities. As he jokes, his move to Florida was also motivated by a desire to escape Pennsylvania’s icy roads in the early 1990s. That journey eventually led him to Florida State University, where he has spent more than 25 years as an IT Project Manager, helping guide projects from planning to completion. Beyond his professional career, Tom has dedicated countless hours to serving the Tallahassee community. His volunteer involvement extends to organizations including Kiwanis, Honor Flight Tallahassee, the Tallahassee Senior Center and his neighborhood association, in addition to his longstanding service with the Chamber. In 2019, Tom even made Chamber history when he received the inaugural Ambassador of the Year Award, becoming the first ambassador to earn the honor. And then, of course, there is Tom’s signature sense of humor. Known for his resemblance to the late television host Larry King, Tom has embraced the comparison, making appearances at local fundraisers and helping raise money for community causes. Whether he is lending a hand to a local organization, connecting with a Chamber member, or delivering a well-timed joke, Tom brings enthusiasm and personality to everything he does. As we celebrate Tom’s 30 years as a Chamber Ambassador, we extend our heartfelt thanks for his extraordinary dedication, generosity and unwavering support of the Tallahassee business community. His service has helped shape the spirit of connection that makes our Chamber special, and we are proud to recognize him as a valued Ambassador, community leader and friend. Congratulations, Tom, on this remarkable milestone, and thank you for 30 years of making a difference!
