A 17-year-old boy shot in Englewood Monday morning has died, officials said. The unidentified victim was hit by gunfire while walking in the 800 block of West 71st Street about 11 a.m. Two men confronted him, brandished guns and began shooting, police said. The boy, in critical condition, was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital, where he died, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office. No other injuries were reported.
