Police in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, are searching for a man driving a green sedan after eighth-grade students reported that he pointed a gun at them while they were riding a school bus back from a field trip. The incident happened around 2:40 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, near North Charlotte Stre et and Dotter Road in New Hanover Township, according to police. The students attend St. Teresa of Calcutta School in Schwenksville, several miles from where the incident occurred. Police said a car was following the school bus when some of the children waved at the driver. The driver allegedly responded with a gesture before pointing what appeared to be a gun at the students. The children ducked, and the vehicle left in an unknown direction, police said. The students reported what happened to school staff after the bus returned from the field trip. New Hanover Township Police Chief John Ciarlello said the allegations are serious. Investigators are searching for a green sedan with chipped paint and a box-like object on the vehicle that may resemble a light or siren. Police are also looking for surveillance video from surrounding areas to determine where the car may have gone. While investigators have gathered some information, they are asking anyone who was near North Charlotte Street and Dotter Road on Friday afternoon to come forward if they saw the vehicle or its driver. Ciarlello said investigators also want to hear from the driver to determine exactly what happened. Anyone with information is asked to contact New Hanover Township police.
