(CNN)– More than 30,000 Toyota vehicles have been recalled due to a software issue that could cause the car to shut down. The recall affects the 2026 Toyota RAV4 plug-in hybrid. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the software issue could cause the hybrid system to reduce po wer or even shut down when driven at higher speeds. As a result, the issue could increase the risk of a crash. Toyota dealers will update the software for free. Owners will be notified by early December.
