Oct 12, 2026
Fort Wayne Dance Collective (FWDC) will present its 17th annual Halloween production, Something Is Out There, October 16–18 at Parkview Physicians Group ArtsLab (300 E. Main St., Fort Wayne, IN 46802). The show features original choreography performed by FWDC professional artists, community da
ncers, youth company Pineapple Dance Project, and South Side High School’s dance troupe. The production explores the strange, mysterious, and unexplained stories that have fascinated and frightened us for generations.
Intended for audiences ages 12 and up, Something Is Out There delves into ghosts and spirits, strange creatures, eerie encounters, unexplained events, and mysteries that seem to defy the laws of nature. Across 15 original works, the production asks audiences to consider what might really be out there.
The production will feature performances at 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 16; 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 17; and 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 18.
“This is probably my favorite Halloween Show we’ve done. Everyone’s work has blended together really nicely. The show is a captivating mix of surreal and dreadful.” Macie Wilson, Arts Administrative Coordinator at FWDC and choreographer for ‘Something Is Out There’ continued, “I think what makes this show so scary is how earthly it is. It’s also very oneiric, which isn’t something we’ve done before.”
This year’s production includes uncanny vignettes in a variety of genres including contemporary, lyrical, hip-hop, jazz, and more. This year’s show also features a collaboration with Hip Hop dance company HayWire Dance Company along with vocal performances by talented community members.
“I’m really excited for Something Is Out There,” says J. Tubbs, FWDC board member. “From the atmosphere and décor to the personality and charisma of each dancer, every element of this show comes together to create something truly engaging. The music, movement, and energy make this a production that feels both mysterious and fun, and I think audiences are going to have a great time experiencing it.”
“The Halloween Show is one of my favorites to choreograph because it’s very storyteller driven. We’re bringing a fantastical world to life. Some parts scary, some whimsical; all exciting and creative and always fun to be a part of. It’s both a dancer and audience favorite for that same reason,” shared Taylor Morris, choreographer and dancer in Something Is Out There.
Tickets for Something Is Out There are $20 and can be purchased in advance at fwdc.org or by calling the ArtsTix Community Box Office at 260.422.4226.
