Lincoln Firefighters do overhaul work after a fire that started in a detached garage and spread to a home near 69th and Huntington just before 6pm Saturday. (Courtesy of Lincoln Fire and Rescue)LINCOLN—(KFOR Oct. 10)—A fire shortly before 6pm Saturday in northeast Lincoln did significant damage to a detached garage and spread to the back of the house. Lincoln Fire and Rescue were called to the scene off of 69th and Huntington.  Crew from Fire Station 9 near Cotner Boulevard and Vine Street could see smoke as they headed to the scene. LFR said everyone inside evacuated but some pets were initially not accounted for.  But a missing cat was found to be okay and some dogs went with Animal Control to be checked out. A 2nd alarm was called due to the fire spreading to a nearby house.  No one was hurt.  A fence was also damaged in the fire.
