Ausar Thompson was attempting to handle the ball much more than usual, John Collins was trying to integrate himself into the lineup while also trying not to murder Dillon Brooks, and Paul Reed was stepping in for Jalen Duren. Then some key bench players were also a little erratic — plenty of shots for Ron Holland, and plenty of fouls and turnovers for… everyone. It’s fine. It’s the preseason. That’s what it’s for. But now the Pistons have a chance to sharpen up against the Washington Wizards. Jalen Duren might suit up today, and we will get a better sense of what a lot of these new ingredients and further simmering talents are able to do for the Pistons.
