Opening date set for TT Supermarket in San Francisco
Oct 06, 2026
(KRON) -- It was just this past summer that TT Supermarket opened its first location in California at San Jose's Westgate Center. A lot of excitement came from the Canada-based Asian grocer's debut in the region.
Now, it is San Francisco's turn to have a TT Supermarket, the second in the Bay Area.
The grand opening is slated for Thursday, Nov. 5 at 9 a.m., the company announced Tuesday in a news release.
According to TT Supermarket, highlights of the San Francisco store include a hot food bar, BBQ station, sushi counter, a cafe with made-to-order drinks and a beauty section with Korean and Japanese products.

The opening comes after years of uncertainty about what will replace the nearly 50,000-square-foot space at the City Center shopping plaza on 2675 Geary Blvd. TT Supermarket joins City Center businesses such as Target, Chipotle, Bank of America and a Tesla Supercharger.
Two years ago, the San Francisco Planning Commission approved a project proposal that would have Whole Foods move into the space previously belonging to Best Buy, which closed nearly a decade ago in 2017. That project ultimately did not go through, opening up an opportunity for the Canadian grocer.
TT Supermarket plans to open more stores in California: Millbrae, Newark, Chino Hills and Irvine. Dubbed “Canada’s favorite Asian grocery retailer,” TT Supermarket is the largest Asian grocery chain in Canada. It was founded in 1993.
