Oct 05, 2026
A man wanted for a robbery locked himself inside a property on Monday evening before giving himself up with an infant in hand, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.
Officers were at a house on the 2300 block of North 3rd Street in North Philadelphia and they declared the situation as a
barricade around 7:29 p.m. because a suspect wouldn’t come out, police explained.
The man was believed to be wanted in connection to a robbery, officials said.
Officers shut down the intersection as SWAT teams surrounded the home, but about an hour later the tense standoff suddenly shifted when police said the man emerged from the home yelling that his children were inside with him.
NBC10 was there recording the whole ordeal as four children walked out alongside the suspect, who was carrying an infant in one arm while his hand with the other. Within moments, officers moved in to safely remove the child and put the suspect in handcuffs.
The suspect danced and shouted message as he was being taken away by officers, saying, “Tell my kids I love them all.”
The suspect also said, “I’ll be out in two weeks. i love you, baby… come and get me, baby.”
No word yet on where the robbery took place or if anyone was hurt.
