The Park City Police Department late last month received at least three reports involving circumstances that sometimes point to possible homelessness, including a case in the Main Street core. Homelessness is not widespread in Park City, but the police for years have received occasional reports of sightings of encampments and other evidence of people without living quarters. There are few resources for the homeless in Park City. The recent cases included: On Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 9:45 p.m., a man was reported to be camping “in the door” of a stairwell at a parking lot near 7th Street. The police classified the case as suspected vagrancy. On Sept. 30 at 11:59 a.m., the Police Department received information about vandalism at a Lowell Avenue property. The police were told there was evidence “of a vagrant living” in a garage, according to public police logs. The police classified the case as suspected trespassing. On Monday, Sept. 28, at 6:05 a.m., a man was reported to be sleeping in a garage on Shadow Ridge Road. The police logged the case as suspected trespassing. The Police Department, meanwhile, in the 9 a.m. hour of Sept. 30, assisted in an effort to find what was described as a homeless camp seen on a hillside along Meadows Drive. The camp was apparently seen by someone in the area of Aspen Springs. The police deployed a drone during the search, but did not find anything.
