RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Gov. Abigail Spanberger welcomed the fall harvest with a delivery of Virginia-grown pumpkins to the Executive Mansion on Monday. The pumpkins were grown and delivered by Richdale Farm, a fifth-generation farm operated by the Crowgey family in Wythe County's Wytheville area, according to a release from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS). “Thank you to the Crowgey family for this special tradition during such an enjoyable season in the Commonwealth," First Gentleman Adam Spanberger said in a release. "The Governor and I encourage all Virginia families to take the opportunity to support your local farmers when choosing fall decorations and activities.” Richdale Farm's Aaron Crowgey and his son Graham delivered the pumpkins to the Executive Mansion, where Spanberger presented a proclamation designating October as Virginia Pumpkin Month, the release said.
