Woman ejected from car dies on Grand Central Parkway; driver charged

A man is facing vehicular manslaughter charges for allegedly driving under the influence when his car flipped, resulting in the death of a woman on the Grand Central Parkway early Sunday morning.
The NYPD said Anthony Dickson, 34, had been driving while impaired when he struck a wall and then a
light pole, causing the gray Honda Accord he was operating to flip in the westbound lanes around 4 a.m.
Police said 23-year-old Arianna Arregui was ejected from the backseat. Medics transported her to Elmhurst Hospital but she did not survive.
Both Dickson and Arregui appeared to live in Brooklyn, according to addresses provided by police.
In addition to the vehicular manslaughter charge, police said Dickson faces charges of driving while ability impaired by drugs. He was arrested a short time after the crash.
Three other passengers were reportedly in the car at the time of the crash but did not suffer any major injuries.
The westbound lanes of the Grand Central Parkway were closed for several hours due to the investigation.
