Nine Conrail train cars derailed Thursday night on the New Jersey Transit Extension near the west end of 10th Street. According to an Alert JC notification, no one was injured, no public streets were affected, and the cars were empty at the time of the derailment. Safety personnel from Conrail, the Turnpike Authority, and Jersey City Police were on the scene early Friday to aid in the recovery.
