President Donald Trump‘s administration tried to launch a new initiative this week, but it backfired quickly. As a reality star-turned-political figure, the president has long portrayed himself as the wisest person in the room — even among other world leaders, his billionaire friends, or tech CEOs. Trump, 80, met with CEOs of the artificial intelligence industry. Several tech billionaires joined the POTUS at the White House on Sept. 29 for a luncheon and photo op. The meeting concluded with the industry leaders agreeing to a “Joint Commitment on Frontier Responsibilities,” pledging to self-police the development of artificial intelligence. ‘It’s a Dog Whistle to the Base’: Newsom Catches ‘Interesting’ Typo and Eviscerates Trump Team Over Sneaky Move During Cabinet Meeting Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, OpenAI president Greg Brockman, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and xAI CEO Elon Musk signed the agreement. “The biggest people in the world signed that, and I signed it as president, and it really is a form of protection,” Trump told reporters outside the White House. Sharp-eyed social media users quickly noticed that the MAGA frontman’s signature on the “morally binding” pact contained a major spelling error. Beneath the New York City native’s infamous signature, the text read, “President Donald J. Trump, President of the Unites [sic] States.” Both Trump’s personal Truth Social account and the White House’s Rapid Response account on X posted the signed letter containing the typo. Critics quickly seized on the glaring mistake, flooding social media with jokes about the misspelled country name. “Well, to be fair, that’s how he pronounces it,” read one post on X, referring to Trump repeatedly slurring his words when saying “United States” as far back as 2017. The president also recently signed an executive order renaming “artificial intelligence” as “super intelligence.” His detractors used that “SI” rebranding against him.  “Stupid intelligence is more like it,” wrote an X user. Trump’s bungled rollout also led to someone declaring, “What an embarrassment he is.”  The online mockery continued when a commenter on the platform tweeted, “Lmaooo, they literally make a fool out of themselves daily.” “And not one of those billionaires had the balls to tell him about it before they all signed it? Surely, ONE of them smart dudes would have seen the typo,” wondered a baffled poster.  One X user pointed out the irony of the administration not spell-checking the artificial intelligence document. The jokester quipped, “I guess spell check comes out in AI.2.” Another person offered a sarcastically positive spin on the typo by posting, “So he’s now president of a non-existent country, which means we officially have no leadership. Best day ever?” Trump has a history of making clear mistakes in his public writings. In December 2025, the former host of “The Apprentice” reality show shared a Truth Social post riddled with grade-school-level mistakes. The word “there” was spelled incorrectly. Plus, the most powerful person on the planet mistakenly used “effect” instead of “affect” in his rant. In another error-ridden Truth Social message, Trump’s years-long obsession with winning a Nobel Peace Prize made his January 2025 post even more cringeworthy. His lengthy tirade included the egocentric politician complaining about not receiving the “Noble Peace Prize,” completely butchering the name of the award established by Swedish chemist Alfred Nobel. The recent misspelling of “United States” came off as especially flagrant because the error appeared on an official government document bearing the president’s signature.
